Purpose & Scope

eLibrary’s purpose is to provide access to information and resources that support the learning and instructional needs of elementary and middle school students, teachers, parents and librarians. The purpose of this site is to provide easy access to resources by young patrons who are emerging and beginner readers through the use of  icons. This shared web portal for all Greater Victoria District elementary school libraries is intended to help alleviate some of the burden of maintaining a web presence by each individual librarian.

This site is not designed to be an exhaustive collection of resources and information. It is intended to serve as the preferred first online resource for library patrons.

Resource Selection

It is not possible to create an exhaustive list of digital resources for students that support all facets of  the British Columbia elementary school curriculum. The parent resources section contains resources associated with media and information literacy.
